Big Country was a Scottish rock band formed in 1981, best known for their anthemic sound and distinctive guitar tones that mimicked bagpipes. Led by singer and guitarist Stuart Adamson, they achieved international success with hits like “In a Big Country” and “Fields of Fire.” Blending post-punk, new wave, and Celtic influences, Big Country created a bold, sweeping style that made them one of the most recognizable bands of the 1980s.
