Spandau Ballet is an English new wave and synth-pop band formed in London in 1979, rising from the New Romantic movement. Fronted by singer Tony Hadley, the band achieved global success in the 1980s with sleek, soulful pop hits like “True,” “Gold,” and “Only When You Leave.” Known for stylish visuals and polished songwriting, Spandau Ballet became one of the defining bands of the MTV era.
