Living Colour, formed in New York City in 1984, is an American rock band renowned for their fusion of hard rock, funk, metal, and jazz. Fronted by vocalist Corey Glover and guitarist Vernon Reid, they gained acclaim with their 1988 debut Vivid, featuring the hit “Cult of Personality.” Known for socially conscious lyrics, virtuosic musicianship, and dynamic performances, Living Colour broke barriers for Black rock artists, earning critical praise, Grammy Awards, and a lasting influence on alternative and metal music.
