Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians, formed in Dallas in the mid-1980s, are an American alternative rock band known for their laid-back, folk-infused sound. Fronted by singer Edie Brickell, they gained fame with their 1988 hit “What I Am” from the album Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars.
