Jane’s Addiction are a pioneering alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1985, fronted by Perry Farrell with guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins. Blending punk, metal, art rock, and psychedelic influences, they helped define the sound of late ’80s alternative music. Albums like Nothing’s Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual spawned classics and laid groundwork for the alternative explosion of the 1990s.
