KC and the Sunshine Band are an American funk and disco group that helped define the sound of the 1970s dance floor. Formed in Miami by producer Harry Wayne Casey (“KC”) and bassist Richard Finch, the band scored a string of infectious hits including “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s the Way (I Like It),” and “Shake Your Booty.” Blending funk grooves, pop hooks, and horn-driven arrangements, they became one of the era’s most joyful and enduring hitmakers.
