Whitesnake is a British hard rock band formed in 1978 by vocalist David Coverdale after his departure from Deep Purple. Blending blues-based rock with polished 1980s metal, the band achieved massive success with the album Whitesnake and hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love.” Known for shifting lineups and arena-ready power ballads, Whitesnake became one of the defining acts of the hair metal era.
